Respect for Locals. Unity Across Canada. Growth for the Future. Results Members Can Trust.

Our union is strongest when locals are respected, members are united, and the national office is focused on delivering results. This platform is about steady, collaborative leadership that supports Business Managers, reduces internal friction, and grows IBEW Canada membership where the work is.

My Approach

Strong locals are the foundation of a strong IBEW.

The role of the national office is to support locals — not override them. As International Vice-President, Matt and his team will work in partnership with Business Managers and local union leadership to ensure national resources are aligned with the needs of local unions.

Unity and Stability

Members expect leadership that brings people together and keeps the focus on what matters most — good jobs, safe work, and strong contracts. A united union is better positioned to win at the bargaining table and in the public arena.

Growth and Opportunity

The strength of our union depends on smart, strategic growth. We must be positioned to organize in emerging sectors and secure work on major infrastructure, energy, and industrial projects across the country. There are also many opportunities in the IBEW’s professional and industrial (P&I)  sectors and core industries where workers go unrepresented.

Results and Credibility

Members deserve leaders with the experience to turn strategy into results. Matt’s work as an organizer and national strategist that built the IBEW First District’s Political grassroots program and presence on Parliament Hill has been focused on preparation, follow-through, and collaboration with locals from coast to coast to coast.

MATT’S COMMITMENT

This campaign is about respect, unity, and steady leadership. It is about working together to strengthen the IBEW First District right across Canada, grow our membership, and ensure the national office is a trusted partner to local union leaders across the country.

Together, we can build a stronger, more united union.
